Stingy? Me?

Those two or three of you that follow my poker exploits, via this blog.. know that I do not play very many hands.... Im stingy that way... and it isn't something that I do on purpose... It sucks. Folding and then waiting for the others to figure out what the hell they want to do, all the while the clock is ticking... I mean come on..... you should know what your gonna do with your two cards... in a mattre of seconds.... you can fold, call or raise..... how hard is it to decide that.... I suppose you could check.... I think people still do that on occasion...

But, I travel wordily far and away from that which i desire to talk about....

Played in another APL tourney last night... and let me share with you some of the hands I got, early on.. ( Oh, I did very well and was way pleased with my play ).

First hand of the evening, and I should preface this with the fact that I had sat down, fully prepared to fold... I had even devised new and interesting ways to throw my crappy cards into the muck..... so, I look down at card 1... Ace....slowly push the two cards apart... another Ace.... first hand... I'm UTG.... blinds at 10/20.. 6 of us at the table.... I really want these rockets to pay off... but I also don't want any suck outs... I debate for a short time on calling, raising to 40, or raising to 100. I was pretty sure the next guy would call my 40, as from previous encounters... he plays any two cards.... and I was hoping for one more caller and the the BB to call... well, everyone called.. :) 6X40=240 in the pot...flop was A54 rainbow... check/check to me, I bet 40... 4 callers this time... including my buddy to my left... 160+240=400 in the pot... turn is a Jack... I bet 100... buddy calls..600 in pot now, yay him... no one else... river is rag... I bet 200, he calls.. 1000 pot.. trip aces beat whatever he mucked... I feel pretty good...next hand...

AKs..... medium size pot... then couple rag hands....then:
KK.... medium size pot...then:
AJ
QJ
KJ
77.. all in a row.. all winners... I've got like 12k in chips...dominate chip lead at my table and for the tourney as well....I am sitting pretty as they say... then.....I get:

J10s
I bet strong, get one caller.. flop is qj9 rainbow... i bet strong.. she wouldn't budge.. turn and river were no help to eithre of us..she had a queen. she took most of my chips... oh, she had come from another table and had just dbld up, putting her rather even with me in chips....... forgot to mention that.. anyway.. she took about 80% of my stack... I was pretty devasted at being so stupid... then I realized.... I played that right... she just had one pair and had no clue that a straight was even possible... funny as things go.. a bettre player prolly would have folded that pair of queens to the possible str8.. highly possible str8... but, she didn't... and bout knocked me out of the tourney...

I built my stack back up slowly.. by being very aggressive and actually getting more than my fair share of luck on the flop.. plus, the blinds had gone up and peeps were getting tighter....

lil latre... won all my chips back from that lady... plus a few more from a young man who felt forced to go all in with Q9s... she only had a pair and I won the huge pot, monster pot.. with 3 sixes.... I was feeling pretty good again...then I got moved... and never won another hand...

Ended up in 9th place outta bout 40 people... good enuff for points....

The blind structure sucks, towards the end... and your pretty much forced to play, everyone is... very lil strategy happening... you have to have ALOT of chips to win with attrition.... example.

we all colored up.. I had 20 1k chips... forced to color up.. now i have 4 5k chips.
lady has 30 1k chips.... after coloring, she has 6 5k chips.
dude has 1 1k chips.. colors up to 1 5k chip.
booboo has 6 1k chips.. colors up to 2 3k chips.

blinds are 5k/10k.. lady is BB. dude post sb of 5k ( all in ) lady posts bb of 10k.

its pretty much a crap shoot from this point... the reason is time constraints... they have to finish the 1st tourney by 9pm and have to finish the second one before the venue closes.. so.. one must gather those chips early on.. and lots of them...

anyway.... felt good to get so many good hands, and to play them well, and to have some luck for once....

plus my lady was there and she got to watch me rack in the chips and she found that exciting... ( she doesnt play but wants to learn ).

man!! that was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
