Casino Trip Upcoming..

...finally...

nothing fancy like Las Vegas, but still, its a start...

For the last 3 or so years, I've been trying to talk my Dad into taking me along with him on one of his gambling trips... he and my Mom usually visit some casino in LA or MS about 3 times a year.... sometimes they win, but, more often, they break even... they don't go to 'make it rich', they go because, they can... they are both retired and all the kids are out of the house...

my pop is a savvy video poker player... he will play his allotted bankroll, and then quit, win or lose. He tells me he will eithre put in 200 bucks if the casino visit is one day, or 100 a day, if two days.. it is rarely more than 2 days.. he tells me, over all, he is prolly even... but, he won a $27k bonus with a Royal Flush, first 5 cards... so, I bet he is more ahead then he is even...

For the last year or so, he has taken up playing Limit Holdem, online.. ( at pogo.com ).. he just plays for fun... he has racked up over 10 million pogo points, playing holdem and video poker.... I have invited him to some of the tourneys I play at, but, he is a bit of an introvert... in this regard...

Anyway... he and my mom, have decided that I would be the one to accompany him on their (his) ((our)) next trip to Kinder, LA, where the Grand Coushatta is... how exciting for me... I said, well, I really can't afford to go that far at this particular time in my life, how about we go to the TexasTreasures boat, out of Port Aransas, its only about 3 hours away, and we can come back the same day..

He don't like the boats.... he informed me, that he don't make my mom pay for anything, so, I would not have to pay for anything eithre, cept my gambling money...

We will be leaving Oct 3rd, arriving late afternoon, most likely, and coming back to Austin on the 5th.. He wants me to take advantage of the Tuesday Hold Em tourney, of which the buy in is free, if you are playing for like 2 or 3 hours before hand... I do not know if I have enough of a roll to last 2 or 3 hours to waive the $15 entry fee, so, prolly behoove me to just pay the fee... the tourney has rebuys, and an add-on, for $40, so, I am thinking I will only need $55 for the tourney.. and maybe $100 for incidental gambling... ( video poker, blackjack ).

Now win I win the Austin Invitational, that will give me that much more to gamble with come Oct. :)

Anyone that might be in that area and care to meet up.. just let me know.. would love to meet fellow bloggers...
