Good
Empire poker game me 25 bucks... sent me a CD, said if I use it, they would put 25 bucks into my account.. yeah right, I said.. I'm sure it is bonus money.. but, since I am bored, I insert the CD and get empire poker going long enuff to fill out my personal info.. that was about 10 days ago.. fast forward to 3 days ago..
they actually did put 25 bucks into my account... in addition, they put 25 dollars as a sign up bonus, into my bonus account.. with a raked hand req of 125 hands..
fast foward to now.. I have 56 really dollars, in my really account, from playing solid NL holdem at the 25 dollar buyin tables.. and over half the hand requirement completed..
I also have 3/5 beers in me.. which is why I quit..and why I am here...
Somber
I've been working 12 14 16 hours a day for the last 10 days or so.. and I am just plain dog tired...... exhausted.. prolly shouldn't of fired up empire once I got home from work today.. but, my mentality was, its free money, and I might get lucky.. and I did... other than that.. not much poker to report...
Bad
I may have to work this weekend... and this weekend, is the Austin Invitational... argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Busted out with a suited A
A5s vs AA needless to say, I was way behind... lost of spades showed up, but, I had clubs...
Freeroll over.. I managed to get a nap in before hand, but that was not enuff to get rid of my headache, 100%. Plus, I was seriously cold decked, which left me bored rather quickly...
I got another volunteer even in the morning.. so, prolly best I went out.. I was not really into anyway...
( I really don't like Noble Poker )
April was still in... hopefully she will do well and represent AUSTIN!!! Scott sorta went out before I did, altho, I surmise, it was most likely far more spectacular than my demise.... that prolly won't make him feel any bettre tho.. heh.
Thanks to BBPGuru from Blind Bet Poker for setting it up.... despite my foul demeanor, I did have fun....
Peace

Work Work Work
I am at work today.. have been since 9 am. Today is saturday.. I would rather be pretty much anywhere else, but here.. but, due to things that I really can't explain, I am here.. and here I must stay..
I have acquired a headache.. and this worries me, because tonight I am signed up for a $500 freeroll on Noble.. and I am not sure that I will be able to hang.. I am gonna need a nap and if I do not get out of here soon.. that nap is going to run into the tourney time...
Hopefully tho.. I will be out of here soon... we shall see....
Oh, I been playing Holdem, regularly, for 1 Year now... haven't been blogging that long tho, not quite yet... so the, yearly memoir thing has to wait.. :)

Neat Idea
Bob, over at The Degenerate Gambler has what I think is a swell idea for a tourney....
Austin Poker Superstars, check it out.
( I think his name is Bob, I'm getting old and my memory is failing )
I am using Bloglines for my poker blogging links... I have had bloglines for awhile, but, I just now got around to using it, and some of its features.. pretty neat... I may have missed one or two people... not to worry tho... I'll get it all sorted out before the end of the year......
Today is Friday and I am so looking forward to 3pm... 6 hours to go...
Check out the forums over at Blind Bet Poker. Our very own April is a moderator over there... some good topics of discussion have sprung up...
Survivor and Amazing Race are going to be back on the air within the next 30 days... I am more excited about Amazing Race tho.. this time around, they are using a family theme.. I worry tho, perhaps they might exploiting the children.... lets hope not.
Done. Peace.

Casino Trip Upcoming..
...finally...
nothing fancy like Las Vegas, but still, its a start...
For the last 3 or so years, I've been trying to talk my Dad into taking me along with him on one of his gambling trips... he and my Mom usually visit some casino in LA or MS about 3 times a year.... sometimes they win, but, more often, they break even... they don't go to 'make it rich', they go because, they can... they are both retired and all the kids are out of the house...
my pop is a savvy video poker player... he will play his allotted bankroll, and then quit, win or lose. He tells me he will eithre put in 200 bucks if the casino visit is one day, or 100 a day, if two days.. it is rarely more than 2 days.. he tells me, over all, he is prolly even... but, he won a $27k bonus with a Royal Flush, first 5 cards... so, I bet he is more ahead then he is even...
For the last year or so, he has taken up playing Limit Holdem, online.. ( at pogo.com ).. he just plays for fun... he has racked up over 10 million pogo points, playing holdem and video poker.... I have invited him to some of the tourneys I play at, but, he is a bit of an introvert... in this regard...
Anyway... he and my mom, have decided that I would be the one to accompany him on their (his) ((our)) next trip to Kinder, LA, where the Grand Coushatta is... how exciting for me... I said, well, I really can't afford to go that far at this particular time in my life, how about we go to the TexasTreasures boat, out of Port Aransas, its only about 3 hours away, and we can come back the same day..
He don't like the boats.... he informed me, that he don't make my mom pay for anything, so, I would not have to pay for anything eithre, cept my gambling money...
We will be leaving Oct 3rd, arriving late afternoon, most likely, and coming back to Austin on the 5th.. He wants me to take advantage of the Tuesday Hold Em tourney, of which the buy in is free, if you are playing for like 2 or 3 hours before hand... I do not know if I have enough of a roll to last 2 or 3 hours to waive the $15 entry fee, so, prolly behoove me to just pay the fee... the tourney has rebuys, and an add-on, for $40, so, I am thinking I will only need $55 for the tourney.. and maybe $100 for incidental gambling... ( video poker, blackjack ).
Now win I win the Austin Invitational, that will give me that much more to gamble with come Oct. :)
Anyone that might be in that area and care to meet up.. just let me know.. would love to meet fellow bloggers...

Volunteer Event Part IV
Part I, Part II, Part III
Before I begin what I hope to be my final installment relating my somewhat exciting trip to Sulphur Springs, as a volunteer for the State of Texas, let me share with you 2 other items of interest, of interest to only me, I'm sure.. heh
1) I believe I have accidently stumbled across the most hilarious reality tv program ever.... It is on the E! network, and it is called Filthy Rich:Cattle Drive.
2) Remember that pic of my lil Junebug? Well, here is her lil sister, my lil 'Lady Bug', on her first birthday ( morning ).
I met several people, mostly nice, mostly elderly, and mostly just as bored as I was.
Lunch was a sack lunch, with ham or turkey sandwiches.. they had PB&J for the kids.
Only the 'patients' got a T-Shirt, so, since I was a 'worker', I had to make my way over to the T-Shirt depot, and 'steal', myself one... it is a nice maroon color with white letters on the front spelling.. WMD EXERCISE.. anyone want to guess what WMD stands for?
Sulphur Springs is a small town and all I saw of it was the inside of the Civic Center. Apparently, there was a Dairy Museum nearby, but, there was no time to visit.. SS is a tad bit north, and somewhat more east of Dallas.. ( I'm in Austin ).
Once it was all over, all we got was a thank you.. no key chains, no postcards, no pens, just a stolen t-shirt for me... and ofcourse, the experience, and the meeting of all the great people.. I had particular fun meeting al lthe kids that came thru my station.. nothing like acting silly just to make a kid smile.... :) The 'caterers', my guess is they were paid in advance, had us grab as many sack lunches as we wanted, for our return trip home.. I grabbed 3. 1 turkey, 1 ham, plus a PB&J, as I figured it would have a better desert than the adult sacks.. I was right! Hostess Cup Cakes!!!! adults were eithre a fig bar, or a small bag of dried fruit pieces. not bad, but, i figured i deserved some chocolate.
I pretty much slept the entire trip back, cept for a dinner break, and only had to use the restroom once.. they fixed the light.. it turns on once the door is locked.....
Got back rather late and I had a hard time waking up. Ended up about an hour late for work.
Thats it.. A rather dismal ending to what was actually a pretty fun trip... I'll try to do better once the WPBT:Austin event is over... :)

Volunteer Event Part III
Part I, Part II
Before we left, they asked for 20 volunteers, from the 40 or so pool of volunteers to be a worker, as opposed to a patient... Now.. I had been a part of a triage exercise while in the Air Force, some years ago, and they had us laying down on the ground in the woods, getting eaten alive by whatever critter might happen by, in most cases, it was chiggers... ugh.. it was horrible... so, I quickly imagined myself, laying down on the ground, the wet ground, since it had been raining, and in my shorts, and God knows what crawling up and around.. my hand went up pretty quick.... we were told we would be helping with registration... now, that sounded like a winner to me...
We finally arrive.. the first location we arrived at was some middle school.. there were several people milling about outside, none looked as tho they knew what was going on... we were told, somewhat reluctantly, to file into the school, and into the cafeteria... we were looking for a person in a orange neon safety vest.. as those were the people that knew what was going on.. we couldn't find one... we settle for a person in a blue mesh vest, with a cardboard placard attached to the back that read, Educator. Hmmm... She proceeded to gather up us 'workers', and leaving our 20 or so brethren behind, filed back outside, back on to the bus, and off to the second location.. which was only about 5 minutes away...
Once we got there, we had to fill out a couple forms.. one being permission for the media to take our pictures and put us on tv, and another to show we would be available, if possible, if this bioterrorism thing really did happen.. We would be receiving on the job training this day... this seemed like a huge responsibility for folks like me, and laying down on the wet ground, in the woods, was starting to sound like a better deal....
So, once we get our paperwork filled out, signed, and turned in.. we then sign a sign up sheet, saying who we are, and what time we got there... then off to another table to make our own name badges... then into the briefing room, and ah ha!!! here is the free food and beverages they promised.... a cup of coffee and some coffe cake was all I needed... they started to split us up into various different groups..
1) Educator
2) Exit Educator
3) Floater
4) some other one, I forget...
I ended up being an Educator, but, not just any Educator, a special Educator...
The Educator job was basically a greeter... the patient comes into the complex, you hand them their forms, find out how many in their family, and give a form for each family member, and breifly explain how each form is filled out...
The Exit Educator checked the form for completeness and HOW it was filled out, and based on the patients answers, sent them thru a YES line, or a NO line.
The Floater was basically a relief person, going whereever was needed...
Ok. There was no laying down on the wet ground, in the woods, for anyone... here is how it went down...and then I will tell you about my special position...
The used the High School/Civic Center as the main clinic... all affected families ( volunteers ) would congregate at their area high school, middle school, or church, and then be bussed to where we were... we had the nurses, the doctors, the police, etc.... once here, they would file off the bus, and for thier first go around, would have to go to the gym, register as a patient volunteer ( same thing we did as workers ), get thier T- Shirt.., then proceed to the auditorium in the CiViC Center.. to get thier orientation...The orientation how some chemical weapon, launched by some mean ol country went off near by and it would cause.. problems with the lungs... explained how there is an antidote and you just have to answer a couple questions, stand in line, and take your medication ( or not!!! )
Then they start into the main arena of the Civic Center, which looked to me as tho it is mainly used for rodeos... they had taken prolly all the cattle pens, which if your familiar with rodeos and ranches and stuff, they are modular... anyway.. they made this zig-zag maze line thing, of the likes you would find at a major theme park..... before that tho, the patients must stop at a table set up with forms and the Educators of the forms... get thier forms, clipboards, and a pen, and start the the cow pen maze.. filling out the form as they went.. once they got to the end, where the Exit Educators were.. they would then eithre go thru the Yes line, or the No line....
The form asked three questions...
1) Are you experiencing any problems breathing
2) Are you pregnant or in labor
3) Have you or have you ever had, asthma, ( and a bunch of other lung related thingies )
If all three answers are no, you go thru the No line.. if any ONE(1) of them is yes, then, you guessed it, its thru the YES line...
In addition, if you answer YES, there is a follow up question..
4)Do you wish to consult with a doctor before taking the medication
So, if your in the NO line.. your gonna take the medication whether you like it or not....but, if your in the YES line, you can opt to consult with a doctor and possibly take an alternative, or nothing at all.
Their were 700 patients... plus or minus a couple hundred or so, at any given time... they kept cycling them thru the process as if a town of 10's of thousands of people existed.. yes, they all went thru about 10 times....
Now for me and my special position, and I am sure by now you are prolly already wondering....
" What do they do about the people in wheelchairs, or the elderly, or the blind, or very pregnant ladies, or people who just had surgery? "
I, along with a somewhat attractive young lady.. only 2 of us.. just 2.. this is important for a lil latre in the story, there were just 2 of us....our job -- wait for it...
Special Educator for People with Special Needs.... we basically let you skip the cattle drive maze and head to the front of the line... we do the same thing with the forms, but also help with strollers, wheelchairs, whatever the case.... and there were two(2) of us... every other station had 6 or more worker volunteers.. we had 2. TWO.
Next installment will talk about the following along with why the number 2 is important to this story:
talk about different people encountered.. the kids.. the old folks. the assholes
lunch
t-shirt
sulpher springs
finally leaving
grabbing more lunch sacks
sleeping on bus
paying to much for cola at conv. store
being late to work

Volunteer Event Part II
Part I
I have to get off the bus... truck back to the garage, climb 3 flights of stairs, get my badge.. head back to the bus... and yep, sure enough.. I lost my seat... oh well.....
Our driver chose to drive the loooong way to the highway, which was our main route... we started from 51st and Lamar, for those familiar with Austin.. and drove to Burnet Rd... which didn't make much sense.. since IH35 was the opposite direction.. I figured he was going to take Burnet to 183, then take a right, then hit the Highway... nope.. he turned left on 2222, and headed West.. taking a right on Mopac... ok, cool, he is going to take Mopac all the way up thru RoundRock, then get on IH35.. nope.. he takes a right on 183.... ugh... now he has to go all the way back east to IH 35... which he does, then finally gets on the highway... it was 20 minutes or so wasted... and as soon as we got on the road.. it started raining... poor lady couple seats in front of me had a leak above her... I didn't know this till way latre, otherwise I would of offered her to share my lil spot...
Traffic got bad after about an hour of driving... not sure what the deal was but, we were in bumper to bumper traffic for most of the trip, at least, the part I was awake...
There was a point where I had to pee.. I didn't want to be the first one to use the bathroom bus. I had never used a bathroom bus before, and I didn't know what to expect... I didn't have to go to bad.. so, I wasn't too worried about it... sooner than latre tho... I was going to need to grow some balls and use the john.... course, I was already wet, so, it prolly didn't matter too terribly much... finally someone got up to use it.... I figured if they came out, then it would be safe... they came out a couple minutes later, and in I went... it was still early in the morning.. and the sun had yet to rise... it was dark in this mobile outhouse.. and I could not find any light switch... anywhere... luckily.. my eyes adjusted to the dark well enuff for me to see a hole in front of me... I didn't know if there was a seat or not, so, I stuck my hand down there, cautiously, and discovered there was indeed a seat, and it was up... so, I carefully did my thing.. which was not easy, on a moving bus.. specially in stop and go traffic... I was glad my shorts were already soaked..... I finished, and shaked... and wondered if there was a flusher mechanism of any kind.... I couldn't see.. I did notice an glob of something above to my left.. in the gloomy darkness..I could tell there was some sort of sign attached to the wall, just under the glob thingy.. it was at this time I remembered I have a lighter in my pocket... so, I pull it out.. hope the sign does not say, "Highly Flamable", and lite up.... put the flame close to the glob thingy, and discover it is the flusher.. the sign says... "Push and Flush to Hold".. I thought that was pretty funny.... Later, I thought I might have read it wrong, so, I went back in and double checked... it did say what I thought it did...it was a very silent flusher also...

( I am at work, and I have to go to work now.. )

Slacking
me... falling behind.... ugh... sorry haven't finished my story about my volunteer trip... it is pretty interesting, well, at least I think so... otherwise, I wouldn't feel bad about falling behind...
Far as poker goes... good and bad... more good.. lost everything on AP... played the $6 SNG... wish I could say it was all suck outs... but, I did play pretty poorly, and at the wrong time.. ie, tired.. sick... on tilt... etc... so that balance is back down to zero... no worries... I had no business depositing anyway...
On Noble, where I also deposited when I shouldn't have... I was freshly on serious tilt from losing it all on AP, that I went ahead and signed up for one of those win 7 in a row and win a million dollars SNG... $10+2. My balance was $26.. was up a dollar there due to a majoy suck out on my part on a ring game.. dbling me up from $13...... anyway... I ended up winning the SNG, giving me a balance of $64.. and I did prolly the smartest thing I could do, considering my current state of mind..
I withrew 50 bucks... putting me back at zero invested in poker.... so I got like 10 or so bucks... 1 in row under my belt.. and am gonna take a couple days break me thinks...
Anyone watch Extreme Makeover:Home Addition ? I love this show.....

Volunteer Event Part I
preparation, sleep, eat-
I wanted to be sure to be able to be up in time to catch the bus at 4am on Tuesday morning.. so, I basically stayed up as long as possible starting friday night... and slept most of saturday... stayed up late saturday and woke up around 11am on sunday.. finally going back to sleep at 6pm and waking up 2am. Played a bit of online poker, if you can imagine that, and went on to work... dog tired... fell asleep as soon as I got home monday afternoon and woke up around 1am Tuesday.. got ready for the trip and played a lil poker and then out the door about 3:15am..
flooded car-
I was rather pleased with myself for planning my sleep as I did.. and knowing I could sleep on the bus during the 4-5 hour trip.. I would be wide awake for the event and pretty much back on schedule sleep wise...
The first thing I noticed walking out the door and heading to my car.. is that it had rained.... I recall thinking that I hope it was not wet where we were going and that if it were, that they would not make me like down on the ground.. I was wearing shorts... ( lots of pockets )... this is about the time I noticed that my sunroof was open, in addition to my front windows.... not much mind you.. but, enuff... Of all the times for this to happen... ugh... How bad could it be, I ask myself.....
Well.. it was pretty bad... for some reason, I was not thinking clearly, and just sat down in the front seat... it was soaked... saturated.... now my ass is soaked..... the only thing I can think about is to get a towel and use it to sit on... didn't occur to me to change my clothes... prolly because I all of a sudden felt rushed.... and I didn't really care what anyone might think... I still needed to get to the conv. store for some coffee.. so, just the towel would have to do...
Now, backing out of the space... I am introduced to the over saturation of the headliner.. everytime I make the slightest turn to the left, or right.. a nice stream of water comes from the headliner above my head.. and hits me on the left or right arm...and my left or right thigh... this is going to be fun...
Get to the convience store.... and reach for my coffee money which I keep in my center console cup thingys.... and you guessed it... they are full of water.... and now I am looking around... the whole fucking car has a puddle of water in it... and to make matters worse... the paperwork I need for the trip, which I had decided to leave in the car.... was soaked..... I spent 10 minutes sopping up water, with an already soaked towel i keep in the car..., so I had to use the towel I was sitting on....
I borrow a towel from the conv store.. sit on it.. get my coffee... put the paper work into the microwave and nuke it for 2 minutes... it comes out dry.... ok.. now, off to the pick up point....
arriving to no one there -
So, driving to the pick up point was an adventure... I ended up soaked in the front, due to the headliner dripping on me... and, my back end was soaked as well... I had left the store with 20 minutes til time to leave... it only takes 10 minutes to get there.. at this hour.. so, I was still feeling good about making it on time... was a lil concerned I might not get a good seat tho... ah well, worse things could happen....
Arriving at the bus pickup location... there is no one there.... no one.... I know for sure it is the right address, as I had checked it out the day before... then I start driving around looking for perhaps people that might be in the wrong spot.. and I am just driving around like an idiot.... when I notice about 5 other cars, driving around like idiots... we were told to park in the parking garage, of which we were all doing laps around... i decide time is running out.. so, I instead of picking a car to follow, which I know would be futile, I decide to take the lead... and turn into the garage, and start looking for an unnumbered parking spot... they had asked to use the un-numbers spots... there were no unnumbered spots... it is 4 levels... not one unnumbered spot.. so, I make my way to the second level and just pick a spot next to the stairs....in the center... the place is covered, so, I crack all my windows, including the sunroof.. hoping it would all be dry by the time I get back, 12 or so hours later... I gather all my stuff.. lock my cell phone in the glove box.. ( I felt like not being bothered by anyone I knew ).. and got out and headed for the stairs.. these fricking stairs go up only.... wtf... I look around.. knowing time is running out.. and I see the bus pull up... over there... about a football field away... btw.. the parking lot the bus pulled into, it didn't have any numbered spots..... so, I see the stairs down and do a quick time march of sorts over to the bus... make sure it is the right one, get on it.. and head to the back.. lucky me.. the rear seat is empty... I plop myself down, pleased with soaked self..... I settle back and get ready to sleep for the entire trip....
forgetting badge, losing primo seat-
about 10 minutes after I got on, and about 10 minutes after the scheduled departure time... I hear our bus captain on the buses PA system.. "Everyone pull out their state id badges, and that is what I will use to check you off the list, and give you credit for participating" SHIT! Guess who left thier badge in their car.. about a football field away....

Win at Noble
Just had my first win of an SNG at Noble... $4.20... it was a $1.20 buy in tho, so, don't think that counted towards thier million dollar dealy...7 in a row thingy..
Not sure if that pic is gonna be clear... is first time I tried to capture a victory pic....
UP a couple three bucks at AP... ring game... taking it easy.. really tight... won with AA and AK.. outta bout 40 hands....2 hours of play...
off to do my volunteer entry...

quickie
cleared about 35 hands of 100 needed, to get 3 buck bonus on AP.. finished session 2 bucks ahead.
won second in a 12 peep SNG on noble... promptly lost 2 in a row out of the money the next day..
did this thing, i found from Feeding the Addiction, who found it I think at, Maigrey's:
your humor style:
CLEAN | SPONTANEOUS | DARK
Your humor's mostly innocent and off-the-cuff, but somehow there's something slightly menacing about you. Part of your humor is making people a little uncomfortable, even if the things you say aren't themselves confrontational. You probably have a very dry delivery, or are seriously over-the-top.
Your type is the most likely to appreciate a good insult and/or broken bone and/or very very fat person dancing.
PEOPLE LIKE YOU: David Letterman - John Belushi
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
You scored higher than 99% on dark
You scored higher than 99% on spontaneous
You scored higher than 99% on vulgar
I took out the table html code to make the info show up with hosing my blogpage.
Im guessing no one my age and gender had taken the quiz at that point.

Well, I'll be
I didn't know til just a few minutes ago, that I could upload images to blogspot, without using some 3rd party gizmo... course, I am at work right now, and don't have any decent pics...
Not much poker since my last drunken fiasco... so, haven't won my fortune yet... but, didn't lose any eithre...
Going outta town tomorrow to volunteer for a State City wide emergency exercise.. I am going to be a patient... be going to Sulphur Springs.. they let me leave work for the day, and in addition, give me 2 days worth of annual leave... so, it equates to a triple pay day off... lounging in the sun, hoping my nurse is cute.. and friendly...
have to get up extra early tho, to catch the bus leaving at 4am. Shouldn't be a problem...
Well, bettre get to work.. I really didn't have any intention of writing anything, until I saw the post pics thingy...
peace

Watched Employee of the Month over the weekend.. Matt Dillion, Steve Zahn... pretty good.. I got a kick out of most of it... the dialogue was usually pretty funny.
Tidbit:
Whisper: Do you want a blowjob or something?
David Walsh: No, I'm good. Thanks.
Whisper: Do you wanna fuck?
David Walsh: You know, that's really sweet, but, uh... I don't think it's a good idea.
Whisper: You can jerk off on my tits if you want.
David Walsh: You know, as much as I'd love to, I think I'm gonna pass.
[stops to open a beer]
David Walsh: Whisper, do you have a boyfriend?
Whisper: Yeah.
David Walsh: What would you do if he was having sex with another girl?
Whisper: Play with her tits?

OMG
The title of this entry translates to Oh My God. Let me spell it for you tho..
Ohhhhhhhh Myyyyyyyyyyyyy GoDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I got drunk... really drunk..... and put 25 bucks into AP and 25 bucks into Noble.
No codes.. but, AP gave me a 3.65 bonus...
Anyway.. OMG.
OMG
Shame on me and spank me silly for not putting money into these sites while I was sober....... tie me up and tease me with pepperoni pizza!!!!
ended the session.. albiet... it took all the will power i could muster... but here..
noble start, 25
noble end, 15.30
AP start. 25
AP end, 39.70
me be up 5 bucks...or so...
I can not hope to explain the difference in play from a freeroll to a real money table...
I would raise.. and guess what.. people fucking folded..... i mean.. really... they just caved.. like there was something of value at stake... let me tell you... I used this once known, twice forgotten knowledge to my advantage.. and the word CALL completely left my vocabulary... left my arsenal... to be used another day, at a million dollar final table...
AP was like pie.. like cream pie.. like cream puff pie.... I was reading the digital pixils like I was their grandma.....
not sure exactly what happened at Noble.. prolly wrong table, wrong limits..
What I am most happy about... extremely most happy about... is stopping while ahead....... that has got to be the most important thing to do... if your a poker player and not a gambler..
but i got way too much alcohol left and no where near tired...... wonder how much i can write till i pass out......
i should take my drink.. pour it in the sink, and go to bed, hoping i didnt drink so much as i am at the point where every thing is gonna start spinning, once i lay down..
speaking of drinks.. let me tell you about this one.. oh and i truly hope pauly and a few crew can make it to the austin WPBT event... I am sorely wanting to spend some quality time with them in our local establishments which cater to the testosteronered fueled male.... we do have a few.... not that I have been to any.. in the last couple years.. i used to date a stripper... for 3 months.... perhaps that is why my ... well, anyway..
about that drink i have.. x girlfriend.. she is a beetch.. but, that is beside the point.. before I realized what a bad person she was.. she brought me back a bottle of 'brandy' from Mexico.. on one of her 'girlfriend' trips.. which i now know was actually a fuck you 'im gonna fuck some stranger' trip... anyway.. the date on the bottle is 1975. and I ran out of beer, and wine, and vodka, and rum, and Jim Beam..... so, I opened it... and smelled it... no smell... hmmmm.. I wonder what that means... so, I took a tiny... really tiny swig....
let me share with you EXACTLY how I reacted...
"Oh my God, that is tight.. That is fucking TIGHT! This ain't fucking brandy.. no fucking way...... .. its gonna taste good with my RC Cola!!! "
So, for the last couple hours.. I have been drinking 30 year old Don Pedro brandy mixed with ice and RC cola.....
I have no Pedro left.. cept for this full glass here... and I am wanting to play some poker oh so bad... what do you call it, when your too drunk to play, yet your still sober enuff to realize it.... ???
I am gonna kick ass Sept 3rd.. yall might as well just give me the money...
ok im gonna go to bed now... i need to figure out what to do with my money, the money i had no right to deposit.. online.. well, it my money, i had the right, but, you know, food and stuff.....
i think i took 3rd in a sng, at AP... which helped a bit too..
oh speaking of which.. and speaking of noble..
playing fun games, simultaniously.. at AP and UB.. I won 8 in a row... SNG...
swear to god...... got me to thinking....... OH thats prolly why i decided to deposit some money...
now i get my motivation.... anyway... noble structure is foreign to me... prolly best i come back at that sober...
ap, i know it like the back of my grandmas ass... ha ha just kidding.. never seen it.. anyhoo.. i want to make my initial deposit back.... go from there..
i dont really care how much drink i have left any more... im to bed now..
smuglet.

Live Poker
I played in a live tourney last night... only to miss the traffic...
The place that hosts the tourney, Mondays and Wednesdays, is like 2 blocks from where I am taking this class for Oracle.. and I got out of class late yesterday.. 5:15 or so, and since signup for the tourney starts at 5.. I decided to go on over.. try to last til the traffic died down...
It didn't appear that the people playing were any where near as skilled as the people I play agaisnt online, at the free rolls.... at least, not at my table..
I only got 'involved' in 4 hands, not counting the couple times it was checked to me in the BB, wheretofor, I folded on the flop...
First hand... K6o.. I am in the small blind, and am able to call the BB... usually, someone would raise some God awful amount that would prevent me from calling with K6o. Flop brought a K and a couple other cards that didn't mattre.. I had top pair, and was prepared to go all in... BB bet 100, everyone folded.. I called.. called his 100 on the turn, and raised his 100 to 200 on the river... he had K6o, split pot.
Second Hand... J7s.... I call from middle position as 3 players folded in front of me... thought about raising, but, well.. traffic was still pretty bad.... flop was 3 queens, not a one of them my suit.. I checked, next person went all in, I folded..
Third hand... I am in the BB.. AKo... blinds are at 400 now... couple people had been calling every raise... pretty much no mattre what.. I was wishy washy on this hand... 1st to act called.. couple folds, dealer calls, SB folds... hmmm.. I can raise min and most likely get both to call, can raise standard ( 1200 ), and maybe get one caller, I can go all in, possibly go out.. the lattre, was easily vetoed, cuz, well, traffic was still bad... simply checking was out as this was too good of a starting hand to let medicore hands get in... I wanted to isolate to 1 opponent, so, I raised 3X, from 400 to 1200... the first guys thinks about it for a few seconds.. and then blurts out... "well, Im sure you have a great hand, cuz you haven't played many at all", I glance at the other guy, as first guy folds, and to me it looks like he was just struck smack in the face with the revelation stick.. I doubt he was even paying attention to how many hands I had played...until mr. blurt out told him... and second guy folds too..... ah well.. any pot is a good pot, right?
Last hand... must explain the the blind levels in these tourneys do not favor the timid player... which I had forgotten earlier... each round, the time limit decreases... as a result, you go from 200/400, in like 5 minutes... so, after that AKo, I fold some crappy cards.. and the blinds go to 500/1000.. I have 3330.. which is what I started with, just about.... and now the BB is on me again, and I get A7s.... folded to SB...and he raises 2500..making it 3000 to play. I look outside, the traffic is looking bettre.. figure if I fold, putting me at 2330, and then the SB will put me at 1830, A7s is looking pretty good... specially agaisnt 1 person, and especially since this guy would play any two cards...but mostly due to the traffic... I go all in... he calls the extra 330... flips A10o.... me be needing a 7... and me not get one... time to go home...
I honestly didn't get anything bettre than those four hands.... had 84o once that would have been a J high straight.. none of the folks that played to the river had an 8, pair of J's won that one.. and one hand was 10 5 suited.. flopped a flush... none of my suit in the two players that went to showdown...
ah well..... I was just to beat traffic, after all....

The Oracle
Oracle9i Database Administration Fundamentals I to be more exact...
Taking this class this week... which severly curtails any poker playing, as it is from 9 to 5, I normally work from 6 to 3, to avoid traffic... traffic in Austin sucks.. big time... anyway.. get done with class about 5 or so, and because of the affore mentioned traffic... don't get home til like 6:30 or 7.. latre, if I need to stop somewhere...
but it is all good... planned to take a break anyway.. plus, learning new skills... hopefully, I will get to use them...
The State, to which I am gainfully employed, is notorious for sending us to classes and then never giving us the opportunity to use anything we might have learned in those classes.. I am hoping this is not the case, this time.
I did take 3rd in a 3 table fun money SNG on UB... prolly coulda done bettre, but, I just got bored.... I played maybe 6 hands up til the final 3...won each one of them too... then I started playing every hand, and the 3 of us must have switched chip leader position 5 or 6 times between us.. The first time I took the chip lead, the current leader bet big from the button, I had K6s, and stated in chat that I am calling only because I am bored... and I actually raised... he put me all in and I turned a flush.... woo hoo.. not so bored now...
Lil latre, started to get bored again... we were all about even.... same guy made another big bet from same position, and I had K6s again.. so I stated, 'I beat you once before with this hand ', and we ended up all in again... and I think this time I beat him with two pair..
Another 20 minutes went by and my stomach was yelling at me to eat...and my butt was hurting and I had a movie I wanted to watch and some other stuff, but enuff to take my mind completely off of poker... so, I just went all in with J8s and got called and he won.. leaving me with 3rd... all good... then I ate some pizza, while trying to watch Alone in the Dark, and soon was laying in my bed, massaging my sore bum, drifting off to la la land......
I have taken the advice of a loyal reader and have started putting away a lil money each month... and hopefully in 3 or 4 months... I will have enuff to actually be called a decent bankroll and I can start playing in the higher limit games again.... I figure if I can sit there for 5 to 6 hours to win 2 or 3 bucks on the AP MTT freerolls, I can certainly wait 3 or 4 months to put myself in a position to win hundreds of dollars.... I still play the free rolls tho... cept, now, I will play them as if I have nothing to lose.. as opposed to playing them to finish ITM... and well, the only loss is the time....
I wish I had more connections to some of the regular tourneys and cash games going on here locally, but, I just don't.... ah well, that could very well be a good thing...
before I close this, want to thank Pauly for some kind words of inspiration he took the time out to share with me, and he certainly did not have to.
Peace
